The class learned to take part in group discussions, and also different points of view on the sub- ject of military training. Those attending the conference were: Laura Maddox, Louise McAllister, Herb Turner, Lynne Howard, Esther Luben, Carl Hanson, and Deb Hankins. gn. JOURNALISM MEETING A Journalism meeting was held in Boulder November 28 and 29, and four of the Journalism students attended. Miss Strong, sponso accompanied the group. While here, they attended several round table discussions and meetings with different speakers. The most important speaker was Jack Foster, editor of the Rocky Mountain News, who spoke Friday evening at the banquet. I X' The four who attended this meeting were: Mary Jayne Willford, Violet Ledford, Marjorie Hazen, and Mary Jane McGowan. They re- ported that it was very interesting, and was to their advantage. CHRISTMAS PARTY A Christmas party was held in the high school gym the day be- fore vacation. Gifts were exchanged. Walker Morrison played the part of Santa Claus.

The highlight of the Carnival was the crowning of the King and Queen, Lillian Brinker and Murlin Peterson. Douglas Semple and Bonna Jean Brownlee were also in the running. To-end the carnival, the Freshman presented a play, nThe Best People.n SOCIAL HOUR A Social Hour was given by the Jornalism group to raise money to attend a Journalism conference in Boulder. During the period bingo was played end small prizes given. For those who enjoyed it there was also dancing. A prize was given for the best jitterbugs and the best weltzers. These prizes went to Louise and Esther, Deb and Shirley. In one booth pop, candy and gum were sold, which added to the enjoyment. Everyond had a grand time and the Journalism class reported it was quite a success. SPEECH CONFERENCE The Speech Class were asked to attend n conference in Greeley to discuss the topic of Military Training. At this conference were nmllnq 1 .
