Special recognition of the scholastically superior student is neglected in some schools, but at Jackson Central High School, the HONOR SOCIETY provides this recognition. A selective organization, the Honor Society bases its membership on traits of character, leadership, scholarship , and service. Pres ident of the Honor Society is Beth Ann Nightenhelser. Student government has always played an important role in the school year. Providing suggestions, in- formation, and assistance, the STUDENT COUNCIL members are selected by their classes every two years, as freshmen and juniors, The Student Council organization gives special help, along with the Honor Society, on Jackson Central's Career Dayg it also supplies strategic assistance on the beginning day of classes.
