Mamzgef l In days to come we hope that this book will grow in value to you. Many years from now, you will leaf through this 1955 annual and recall various experiences in high school. Many of them will be brought to life by the sight of an old friend's face. We have tried to depict the growth and progress of jacksboro High School through these pages. Our success in doing this depends on how you as a student accept our efforts. In order to typify the curricular and extracurricular activities car- ried on by the student body of j.H.S., we have not followed a definite illustrated theme. Instead we have tried to make our pictures tell the story of 1954 and 1955. It has been our interest to include every in- dividual, activity and school function. On behalf of the entire Fang staff, I wish to express my thanks and appreciation to our advisors, Mrs. Odis Ogle and Miss Ruth Whitaker. They have helped make this annual what it is. Also we extend this appreciation to all the people who have helped make this annual possible. We feel that your satisfaction with this book is our compensation and with this thought the staff presents to you The 1955 Fang. JANICE SIMONS Editor F OREWORD HIGH SCHOUL SONG Faithful and truehearted, Let us boost our dear Old High, We revere her and defend her, As her colors proudly fly, We will stand for her, united Of her deeds we'll gladly tell, Her colors streaming, Glad faces beaming, S0 here's a cheer for her, For her we love so well. Honors she has taken, On the track and with the ball May she always rank the highest, May her colors never fall, There's no other that can match her When her team is on the field, Her boys the fleetest, Her girls the sweetest, Then here's a cheer for her, For her who ne'er will yield. joyous, And ever loyal Let us boost our dear Old High, Let ev'ry heart sing, Let ev'ry voice ring, There's no time to grieve or sigh, It's ever onward, Our course pursuing, May defeat ne'er our ardor cool, But united, we will boost For our Jacksboro High School. :XA W? - 7 I ...A . 4 --ws B w ' 'M pf .lf-Q' W, 'fW '-,W ummm N mtffww 'fa' .www Q. CRANE Secrelfzry I0 Superinfendent SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS LEWIS A MooRE BS NTSC. MA TCU. Congratulations to the Annual Staff for this fine book that portrays our school pro- gram in the High School. We know the students of today will be the leaders of our nation tomorrow. Therefore, we hope we are giving you the foundation to insure the future generation that our American way of life will be continued through the years. The enlarged school plant, your Board of Education, and the 62 employees are coordinated in an effort to provide opportunities for the development of the 1003 students enrolled in the jacksboro Public Schools. We would like to express our thanks and appreciation to the patrons and citizens whose cooperation and loyal support have made our fine school program a reality. We feel sure that you share with us the pride we have in our schools. Sincerely, ' Q1-QVYL LEWIS A. MOORE, Supemzlezzdezzl jacksboro Public Schools A. G. BEENE B.S., Texas A8cM M.S., E.T.S.T.C. To the Students of jacksboro High School: It seems that each year becomes more pleasant for me and more satisfying as you and the faculty help to make this a better school. I hope that you have the same feeling and that this year has helped you in gaining a better knowledge of the opportunities and advantages offered by our country. May you always remember this school with its traditions and customs, and may you continue to support it to make it a better school for a more pleasant place to work and play. Schools like this do not just happen. They are made good because someone works hard at the job and because the community gives its wholehearted support in making it good. Your school deserves the same loyalty and respect as you show your family because, in a sense, the school is a part of your family. I wish each of you the best that you deserve and hope you have a happy and prosperous life. Sincerely, ZJZWW A. G. BEENE Principal PRINCIP AL FACULTY MRS. RUTH CALLAWAY B.S., N. T. S. C .
