Johnson vs. Lee It can almost he said that history repeats itself — Almost. Johnson and Lee fought it out for four quarters, and at the end of the regulation time the score was Johnson 7. Lee 7. Recalling last year’s frustrating 0 0 score. Coach Childress of Lee had decided before the beginning of the game to go into overtime in case of a tie. He couldn’t have known the effect his decision would make. The Jags fumbled the ball on their own 8-yard-line in the first quarter, which led to Lee's sole touchdown. Then, in the seontl quarter, Lee fumbled the hall. Chris Marlin recovered it. Thirty-four yards late r, Johnson scored to tie the game at 7 7. The second half of the game was uneventful and frustrating for both teams. Neither could penetrate further than a few yards into opposing territory. As the clock ran out, the score was maintained at 7 7. The atmosphere as overtime began was unbearable. With l oth teams under pressure from their fans, their coaches, and themselves, the first drive got underway. Johnson scored on the third down, and the successful PAT made the score 14-7. The Generals then look possession of the ball. A pass into the end zone deflected off of the intended receiver's fingertips, and landed in the waiting hands of Jaguar Kevin Cassady. This play ended the game, leaving the Jags with a hard-earned 14-7 victory. 33
