Any member of the Spanish classes, and those who have taken Span- ish at J. 0. Johnson High School who are inter- ested in furthering their knowledge of the Spanish language, life and culture may be a member of this club. Presently, there are eighty-five mem- bers. Omega Beta Upsilon is an all female service club. OBU was formed in 1973 to aid the poor and disabled community. OBU members are chosen by their grades, per- sonality and willingness to work. At the present time OBU has twenty-five meml ers plus two sweethearts and three mascots. Omega Beta Upsilon has donated two hun- dred dollars to the wrestling team for their new mat. OBU also had the pleasure to honor SGA sponsor Wilbert Brown and sci- ence teacher Laura Hall with plaques for their extra-curricular activities. OBI’ SENIORS: FIRST ROW. STUDENT SERVICE ASSOCIATION is a service- oriented club. It was organ- ized with the purpose of providing services for the school and community. Membership is open to anyone who meets the fol- lowing qualifications: Must be able to work with people: Must be enrolled at John- son High School: Must have a grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 point system, and Must exemplify leader- ship ability. STUDENT SERVICE ASSOCIATION has partici- pated in a number of pro- jects. Some of these pro- jects were: Provide Christmas trees for staff rooms; Donated money to the Language Arts Department for a tape recorder; Purchased corsages for the Homecoming Court, and Donated money to the library.
