ECOLOGY CLUB The Ecology Club serves as an assistant group to the entire community effort to make Huntsville a better and cleaner place to live. They sponsored the Paper Drive for Johnson High. In cooperation with city recycling program, they collected recyclable materials from the community. In the spring the Ecology Club studies nature on excursions. First Row. — 272 GERMAN CLUB “DAS VIERTE REICH” The German Club promotes the German language and attempts to reach a cultural understanding. This year’s activities include an Octoberfest, a Christmas party, and a Spring picnic. Several club members attended the State Convention, and the club put on a play for Ed White Middle School. FBLA The purpose of FBLA is to develop self-confidence and strong, aggressive business leadership in the members who will soon become future businessmen and women in the business and com- munity life of which they will soon be an integral part. FBl.A also provides effective means of bringing students together to deal with vocational preparation, national problems, community improve- ment. and worthwhile relationship with local, state and national groups interested in the welfare of youth. The activities of FBLA provide an opportunity for students to attend business seminars with representatives from business enterprises, to visit other FBLA chapters, to participate in state and leadership conferences, and to support charitable organizations.
