ANCHOR CLUB The Anchor Club is an international girls' service organization sponsored by the Pilot Club. Membership is limited to thirty-five girls who have been approved by the faculty for exhibiting outstanding qualities of character, leadership, and service. In addition to participating in the club’s school related scheduled activities, each member is responsible for individual involvement in a community project, such as serving as a hospital volunteer. Annual events of the Anchor Club include a teacher’s appreciation tea, “Hickeys , a Mother-Daughter Banquet, and Senior Class Day Tea. This year the Anchor Club members were active participants in the Diabetes Drive, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, and The Christmas Charities Canned Food Drive. The club’s Homecoming float, “Plot the Panthers , received third place. The major project of the Anchor Club this year was a Powder Puff Football Game played against Lee’s Anchor Club in which all the proceeds went to the Downtown Rescue Mission. Top Picture. First Row.
