Also during this game, Larry Johnson was injured early in the first quarter. With just 37 seconds left in the first half Keith Graham managed a 27 yard field goal for a Bradshaw lead of 3-0. One hundred and fourteen of Bradshaw’s 184 first-half yards were made through passes. The kickoff return began on the Bruin 46; and eight plays later, they scored on a 7 yard run by quarterback Ricky Butler. The kick by Keith Graham was wide. After driving from the Jaguar 37 to the Bradshaw 20, Sam Bucy passed only to be intercepted by Mike Moss, who ran it to the 43. The Jaguars held on and got to their own 30 but fumbled, and Bradshaw recovered it. The Jaguar defense again kept the Bruins from the end zone. Three plays later the Jaguars had to punt out of their own end zone and Bradshaw drove the ball back. Randy Pickins scored on a one yard drive. Johnson came back after a 34-0 loss to Butler to beat the Generals 20-6 and maintain the tradition of beating the Generals. Ixc had more yards passing and completed more passes than the Jaguars. The Jaguars, in turn, intercepted three passes and had more yards rushing. The first Johnson score came when Larry Johnson ran 40 yards and climaxed an 89-yard, 4-play drive and a 37-yard halfback pass from Larry Johnson to Jerry Gordon. Sam Bucy kicked the extra point. Late in the first half, the Jaguars fumbled; Lee recovered the fumble at their 23 yard line and moved to the Jaguars I7 yard line with the aid of 30 yards in penalties. Mike Norment intercepted a short Randy Walder pass and returned 83 yards to score. Sam Bucy again kicked the extra point. Forty-seven seconds of the second half brought another Johnson score. Larry Johnson returned the kickoff to the Ijee 43 yard line. Cedric Brownlee ran 41 yards on the first play from scrimmage. Bucy scored from four yards out. The single Lee score occurred when Bo Wherry scored from 4 yards out after a 47 yard kickoff return by Reggie Hailey and a pass interference call in the end zone on the fourth down. £4.4. -HanLEX ''cJ-fuittz, czHuitts. The Jess Lanier Tigers defeated the Jaguars 21-7. Jaguar, starting tackle James Thomas injured his foot and was unable to play the entire second half. At first, the game appeared to be no contest. Johnson made it to the Tigers’ 6 from their 24 in 12 plays. Lanier pushed them back to the 12 halfway through the first quarter. After an exchange of downs, Johnson went to the 45 where Randy Carlin fumbled; Donald Wormley recovered at the 31. Six plays later, Cedric Stebcns ran 3 yards and scored for Lanier with 36 seconds remaining in the half. Johnson blocked the kick. With 6:20 left in the third quarter, Lanier’s Charlie Williams dived in from 2 yards out and scored. Jaguar Sclwyn Vickers made a tackle to prevent the 2 point conversion. The score was 12-0 Lanier. Williams’ (Lanier) scored off a Jaguar fumble. The extra point attempt failed A Sam Bucy pass at the Jag 27 was intercepted by Greg Jones who in turn ran 73 yards for a score. Frank Monzella kicked the extra point with 57 seconds left in the third quarter. Randy Carlin passed to Randall Hildreth for 73 yards and a TD with three minutes remaining in the game.
