In addition to painting fund-raising advertisements to help promote the athletic department, the club also helped in the preparation of school-wide entertainment events. The members planned visits to the art departments of local colleges and universities. They also planned to donate a display case to the school and to paint logos for various school departments and a mural for the smoking court. DHCA is a club formed for Distributive Education students. DECA encourages free enterprise, economic awareness and vocational understanding. The Johnson High Chapter of DECA competes with the other Huntsville DECA clubs in the fields of sales demonstration, job interviews, public speaking, advertising, and display at the district competition.
