Modern Music Masters is an honorary club composed of students who cxcell in musical abilities. Tri-M sold cupcakes in the choral department to help raise money for the initiation of new members. Induction services for new members were held in the fall and again in the spring. This year the club was asked to help usher for the Community Chorus’ performance of The Messiah. The sponsor for the effort was the National Spirit and Sports Association. While dancing and drilling with the group, each girl was judged individually and received either a red, white, or blue ribbon. Tanya Stapler won a trophy for the drill down competition. Missy Wright was named Miss Spirit. At the State Competition held at Huntsville High, Wendy Wickwire captured the position of first runner-up in the Miss Alabama portion of the contest. The team dances at all sports games and participated in the halftime program of their first out-of- town game in Russelville. The Jaguarettes attended the February 12 state competition scheduled at Birmingham-Southern University and captured first place in the dance, high kick, and prop divisions.
