■ddtudznt ZZVICE cdf±±oaiation The SSA is a service organization which was formed in the spring of 1976. The club serves the community as well as Johnson High. During the school year, SSA provided Christmas Trees for several of the classrooms. They also sponsored a dance to raise money for the developmental reading lab, SGA and the annual staff. This year the French Club donated its services to help decorate for the Homecoming and Christmas dances. Other activities for the year included fund-raising projects to help pay for the club’s Mardi Gras party, and a picnic in the spring for the senior members. zA [u Mu Alpha Theta is a math honor society, formed for the promotion of mathematical interest and endeavor. This year MAT co-sponsored a float with the Honor Society for Homecoming activities. Along with having guest speakers during club meetings, they also served as guides and aides for the District II Math Conference here at Johnson. MAT participated in the Austin Mathematics Tournament and placed third on Level I in Algebra I. Other contests in which they participated were the National Math Exam, sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America, and math contests at Samford University and UAH. BOTTOM PICTURE.
