Johnson Choral Dept. The Choral Department is one of the most active organizations at Johnson High. While per- forming, in the fall for various churches and civic organizations, the choral students found time to put together the 2nd place float in the Homecom- ing Float Contest. Soon thereafter, they put together a most successful Christmas Concert. Johnson was most fortunate, thru hard work, to have 25 students accepted for All-State Chorus. These students gave up their Spring Vacation to participate in this exciting event, with a well- known conductor. Eight soloists, plus the Tre- blettes, Lyriques, Madrigal Singers, and Barber- shop Quartet all earned Superior ratings at District Solo-Ensemble Competition. The Chorale and Choraliers, as usual received Outstanding ratings at District and State Competition. Plans for the remainder of the year include a trip to The Regional Six Flags Choral Festival in Atlanta and a spring production including a “Twenties” mon- tage with choreography. The Choral Department annually sponsors the Fall Talent Show and The Beauty Walk, which selects Johnson’s Sweetheart.
