Q EUROPE78 A ride through Venice on a gondola, a night at an Austrian Festival, crossing over the Berlin Wall, and viewing the Paris lights from the Eiffel Tower are a few of the precious memories of the 1978 European Cultural Tour shared last summer by the sponsors and some of the students of Ftanum High School. They started in London, then on to Rome, Florence, Salzburg, Munich, Berlin, Paris, and back to London. The sponsors were Mr. Ed Meyers, Mr. Jim Melhouse. The students were Kelly Davis, Kevin Compton, Patty Winter, Louise Larkin, Francine Kumar, Kurt Smith, Lance Nading, Damon Porterfield, Diane Jones, Doreen Sanchez, Connie Currier, Susan Yamasaki, Geralyn Creadon, May Wu, Ken Asay and Diane Savage. The memories and companionship of the gl will never be forgotten.

MQ A Frances Morris, head librarian, was born in Otterville, Missouri. Being the youngest of eight children, her father, a teacher, helped influence her career. Mrs. Morris had the honors of graduating as Valedictorian at Otterville High School and Salutatorian at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College. There she majored in English and History. She continued her interests and taught History, English, P. E., and Drama. With her S knowledge and fine background, she started libraries for Lutheran High School, Shaw is Heights Jr. High School, and Ranum High School. Frances Morris married Edward . i,tt Morris and had two children who are presently pursuing the field of teaching also. Mrs. Morris has had the pleasure of traveling extensively to places such as Europe, Mexico, Alaska, Canada, and various states in the U.S. Her hobbies consist of reading literature, history, biographies, and philosophy. She loves to hike and walk great distances. As an accomplished seamstress, she quilts much. ln addition to enjoying the theater and good movies, she is very active in church. One of her newest interests is refinishing furniture. Thanks to Mrs. Frances Morris, our library here at Ranum is one of the finest in the area. Her help and pleasant attitude has benefited the school immensely. l,4
