A variety of topics will be studied in an attempt to understand their highly developed culture. These areas will include: the Pharaohs, the pyramids, THE BOOK OF THE DEAD, Herodotus fthe First Historianj, embalming, wars, politics of the ancients, religion, the arts, and much more.

Community Laboratory in Political Science is a nontraditional type of class that uses the community as a classroom. It is designed for students interested in law, politics, government, or police work. Rather than attending class on a daily basis, students do field work in any or all of the above areas. One of the activities that students participate in is Student Day in Government at the State Capitol. There, with students from high schools all over the state, they assume the roles of senators and representatives. They then write and attempt to pass bills, meet in committees, hear an address by the Governor, and learn about the state legislature.
