The boys team finished 4th in the league and 4th in the district. The girls in their initial year did very well in finishing 3rd in the league and 3rd in the district. 17 The golf team had one of its best finishes at State this year, placing 6th in a strong field of 28 tteams. The team was paced by returning lettermen Pat Tait, Jeff Peterson, Russ Dawson and Dana Jennings. Other lettermen included Randy Tait, Jay Castor and Jim Jones. Jeff Peterson was picked for the 1st string Qu- Skyline team this fall. ' , ' The team is looking forward to next year as most of this year's team will be returning. . O

LW lfjf if - las fa SF? me lily..-f 4-W If The 1978 Ranum High School Girl's Varsity Volleyball Team consisted of 7 seniors and 5 juniors. They worked very hard perfecting their skills throughout the season. Under the leadership of team captains, Donna Hovorka and Pam Maes, the Raiders got through the second round of the district playoffs losing a close match to state-bound Brighton High School. Next year should be a good one, with 5 very experienced juniors returning to the starting line-up.
