Among those included in the renovations was the lth- aca College Bookstore which was previously located in the Union. lt has now moved to the area between the East and West Towers which was formerly the Pub. Since its move the bookstore has acquired many new things. Among them a new name, The Glass Menagerie. The store has also acquired a small deli, a photography section, a larger assortment of paperbacks and maga- zines and many other items. According to some, there is only one drawback, lt's further to walk. A .V ' -ha.. if gif -'SEX ll VHF: mf EW! XXX X 'I 2 lm fi iff? This money is given to seniors who in their last year find that for some reason they will not be able to complete their education. This method of donation has not been very successful recently and this year's Senior Class has implemented a new method for obtaining these funds. In January the Senior Class opened a franchise of Penny Lane Candy at the newly rennovated Union Desk. Students are able to purchase Licorice, Tootsie Ftolls, Chocolate, various types of peanuts and bubble gum. lf fully utilized by students, the candy shop is expected to make anywhere from 3200.00-3500.00 a week. This would mean that a minimum of 3100.00 a week would go into the scholarship fund. At this point it seems as if the Senior Scholarship fund may be quite large. ORACLE Members: D. Ailes, D. The team which represents the school is chosen from the most capable members of the club. The shows are equestrian in nature. This means that the riders are judged on the way they look mounted on the horse and how they handle the horse rather than how the horse looks. Despite our lack of proper facilities this year our team did very well. Out of 12 teams we came in fifth for the year. Hopefully we will improve in the future. MGP' x GREASER NIGHT STUDENT CONGRESS ELECTIONS Every Spring Student Congress Elections are held. This spring was no different in that respect. In other respects this election was different. Pictured on these pages are the candidates and the students who attended one of the many debates held by the two parties. This year more active campaigning was done than ever before. Both parties seemed alike in many respects and this made voting a difficult task. Although participation in the campaign was high, voter turnout was relatively low. The Election was won by Kenny May CStudent Body President-innovator Partyg Cin- dy Miller-Vice President Student Affairs-lnnovator Partyg Ter- ry Brookings-Vice President for Student 8t Campus Relations- lnnovator Partyg and Don Senderwitz-Vice President for Busi- ness Affairs-New Horizons Party. 1. z wg mm. zz ,gin lf . However many people are not aware of the purpose of the bus and merely see it parked on a lot near the Speech Pathology Department. The unit was designed by T. Walter Carlin, Ph.D. and manufactured by the Gerstenslager Company, is approxi- mately 33 feet in length. Of this, 27 feet is usuable space, divided more or less equally into four areas. Two of these areas are a reception area consisting of a desk, typewriter and seating space for four persons and an otology area consisting of a great deal of storage space for medical supplies, a rotating chair with head rest and a sink. The room is designed for use by an otologist. A testing room which is sound treated is the third area. The room is insulated and isolated mechanically as far as possible from the body of the Unit. Last, but not least, is the instrumentation room housing a Peters 2-channel diagnostic audiometer equipped with air and bone conduction pure tone and speech facilities as well as sound field facilities. This audiometer is standard in its potential for performing small increment sensitivity index, loudness balance testing and all other standard diagnostic tests. Also in the instrumentation room is a Grason-Stadler E8000 Bekesy Audiometer, a Madsen Acoustic Bridge and a complete averaged electroencephalic audiometry complex. The Unit itself was a gift to ithaca College from the Gebbie Foundation of Jamestown, New York. The instrumentation aboard was purchased by Ithaca College at an expense of approximately S20,000. The Mobile Unit has been in service since September 1970. As many as 345 people have been screened in one day. At present, the Unit rents for S300 a single day or S500 for two days back-to back. The hours of utilization are deter- mined by need and response rather than by the clock. The Unit itself must be viewed as a tool to be utilized in a total rehabilitation program in those areas where it can be of most service to each individual sponsor. 1 42 -.v ,l W' sq. FROM THE EDITOR 4' , . f I would like to thank all those who helped make this book possible. This year an abnormal amount of problems arose for the Cayugan, and through it all a core of people helped us through them. My very special thanks to Sandy Rockwell, Bob Bonnell, Jan Gatti, Pam Moyer, Joe Gilroy, and Bill Celano. Without the help of these people, there would be no yearbook. One of the most important problems this year was that an entire section was lost in the mail the Sports Section. Although we were able to replace a few of the team pictures, the majority of them were irreplaceable, and therefore did not get into the book. I would like to extend my sincerest apologies to those on these teams, and to the entire school of Physical Education, and I know that the rest of the Cayugan staff joins me. I do not feel that the book is complete with such an important area of campus life eliminated. I hope you will all enjoy your '73 yearbook. I enjoyed putting it together.
