“gt! 0 SENIOR CLASS HISTORY ng- fs 1-xi EIS' In September of l9h7 28 pupils enrolled in the first grade By the time we had reached the eighth grade the number in our class had fallen to 19 Teachers throughout our grade school years were Mrs Agnes Locken, Mrs Askarl Reich, Mrs Vern Hirsch, Mrs Eva Schlomer In 1955 all l9 eighth graders began their freshman year of hi h scnool In addition 9 more joined the class making a total of 2 Our freshman year was very eventful The highlight was initi ation after which we became recognized members of IHS Our class officers aere Ruth Ann Lutz, President, Armella Jung, Vice Pres ldent, Patty Dahl, Sec Treas , and Darrell Gill, Student Council Representative Ruth Ann Lutz and Darrell Gill reigned as Oompah King and Queen and Beverly Solberg was elected Queen of Hearts Beverly Solberg was also a cheerleader Karen Matthews, Beverly Elfrlnk, and Ruth Ann Lutz received excellent ratings at the Dis 'riot Declam contest At the end of our freshman year Jesse Goetz transferred to Mo bridge and during our sophomore year Ken Frank joined our class Sophomore class officers were Alvin Miller, President, Rubye Paulson, Vice Pres , Coraine Streyle, Sec Treas , and Francis Lemer, Student Council Representative Armella Jung and Francis Lemer were candidates for Oompah King and Queen and Rubye Paulson and Kenny Frank were Valentines Ball candidates Karen Matthews and Beverly Elfrink participated in the District Declam Contest we presented the play Like Father, Like Son at the Oompah Car nival Beverly Solberg was again chosen as a cheerleader Beverly Elfrink and Mary Ann Jones received III ratings at the Regional Music Contest in Mobridge At the end of our sophomore year Beverly Solberg became Mrs Lorry Lindskov and Armella Jung transferred to McIntosh During our junior year Kenny Rost transferred to Dupree and Judy Bertsch became Mrs David Miliken Our junior year was very busy Our class officers were Coraine Streyle, President, Olaus Njos, Vice President, Francis Lindskov, Sec Treas and Darrell Gill, Student Council Representative Ruth Ann Lutz was chosen as a cheerleader. Karen Matthews and Alvin Miller were Oompah King and Queen. Mary Jones and Francis Lindskov were Valentines Ball candidate. Karen Matthews, Beverly Elfrink, and Ruth Ann Lutz represented the school at the District Declam Contest. Beverly Elfrink and Mary Ann Jones received II ratings and Francis Lindskov received a III at the Mobridge Music Contest, Francis Llndskov was our Boys State representative. W presented the play uThe Boarding House Reachn to raise money for our Junior Senior Banquet and Prom. The theme of this was nEve- ning in Parisn. Honored guests at the banquet were Mr. and Mrs. Ephriam Relchert.
