To the Class of T959
Congratulatuons to each of you for attaun
mg the senuor class level un our school system
and for your annual yearbook venture At
thus tume you should be deducated to the ultu
mate oblectuve of graduatuon, and thence
your proper place un socuety Let nothung
deter you from thus accomplushment
You were born at a tume of great unterna
tuonal strufe Our natuon had lust been at
tacked and forced unto the second World
War You have luved through the post war
years of the fortues and early tiftues, when
the spread of confiuctung udeologues through
out the world had uts effect upon your early
years and the socuety whereun you grew
The acceleratuon of populatuon growth the
uncreased demands of labor and the spural
of unfiatuonary practuces affected our socual
patterns The great structural change of
employment opportunutues, from structly the
old labor management category to a great
new field of vocatuonal and technucal serv
uces whuch greatly reduced the need of the
common laborer and produced a great new
field of whute collar opportunutues These
whute collar uobs were not to be confused
however wuth the starched type of Admun
ustratuon and Management All of these devel
opments demanded and receuved changes un
the educatuonal program and uts offerungs
You have now reached the termunatuon of
your hugh school career durung a new era
tabbed space age Thus has produced a
whole new set of pressures and demands on
socuety and uts unstututuons, whuch threatens to
cause even more accelerated changes un our
socual patterns However there seems to be
emergung from all of thus, an expressuon from
the publuc whuch places a premuum on educa
tuonal strength Educatuonal excellence,
they are begunnung to realuze, us un the long
run more umportant to Natuonal security
han mulutary mught "
Wuth thus thought un mund, I wush you suc
cess, whether after hugh school you enter
your talents un College competutuon, or market
them un the field of free enterpruse and uob
opportunutues
A Donald Bartoo,
Pruncupal of the Dustruct
Superuntendent of the Dustruct
