IOWA PARK HIGH SCHOOL IOWA PARK. TEXAS FOREWORD A bigger and better annual has been the goal of the staff of this year's HAWKS' NEST. In con- junction with this goal-we have tried to present good, clear photographs, more pictures, more snapshots, and an extra section called Before And After Graduation . Also for the first time in HAWKS' NEST history our cover has a picture of our school in vivid color. Regardless of the effect of future yearbooks, we have tried to compile a book that you, as fellow students, will; and we hope that it will remain different in the fact that it is a true picture of this memorable year at Iowa Park High. Speaking for the staff, I would like to convey our appreciation and thanks to all who have co- operated in making this annual possible. May our effort be your enjoyment. The Seniors enjoyed this day and had a lot of fun acting childish. SENIOR PROPHECY May 13, 1970 As is the custom in the United States, a census count is taken every 10 years. Being census takers, my colleague, BARBARA DICK and my- self have traveled throughout the country recording statistics. Several of the names on our record books sound somewhat familiar ;you may rec- ognize them as being members of the Senior Class of I960. CHARLES WICKHAM, a famous race jockey recently flashed across the finish line at the Kentucky Derby. Modest Charles gave all the credit to his thoroughbred's hammering hoofs. BOB ALMOND became a prosperous mortician, commonly referred to as an undertaker, famous now for his invention of a new kind of embalm- ing fluid. In I960 the marriage of Princess Margaret and Anthony Armstrong Jones made headlines. Today, some 10 years later the royal couple have hired LELIA LOWEN, who formerly ran an orphanage, as a governess for their seven children. ROBERT RAUSCHUBER has become one of the country's most prom- inent criminal lawyers. He recently cleared Al Capone Jr. from an income tax evasion charge. LINDA GEISERT, Olympic ski champion told reporter s at Squaw Valley that she got her inspiration from her nickname in high school of ski nose . RUTH BOSWELL and her husband now own a chain of businesses called Speedy Dirty Diaper Service . Phi Beta Kappa, an exclusive honor society in colleges is privileged to have ROY BOUT WELL as its present honorable president. Not since Peyton Place was written have critics so censoredand con- demned the work of a contemporary novelist. JANICE MILLER'S newest literary contribution, Rat Race Place has been banned from newstands. GARY MAY is now America's ambassador of good will to Russia. Gary, who always had a way with people, is Russia's favorite American ambas sador. PATSY BLAYLOCK and her husband own the largest sardine cannery in the world. They discovered a way to pack sardines without over crowd- ing them. Boris Karlof and Vincent Price terrified movie goers 10 years ago but JOHNNI STRICKLAND is now the star of horror movies. Johnni at- tributes his success to his experiences in the Senior Play. FLOYD BROWNING is a horticulturist (which means he works with flowers). Floyd's most notable accomplishment is the cross breeding of an orchid and a sunflower. Wichita Falls is a city without crime now that DONALD THOMPSON is its chief of police. Chief Thompson has recently clamped down on the young juveniles of the city. RANDY TRANTHAM, who became so disgusted with people because of his experience as Senior Class president, has become the town dog catcher--He's all of the dogs' favorite catcher. RUTH ESTES has married a count, who owns a huge estate. It is seldom that you see Countess Ruth without a diamond tiara in her hair. LYNDELL GLENN is now a ballet teacher. Lyndell has appeared in several operas with his unique ballet dance while at the same time he juggles several discuses. ZELMA WHEELER is the nation's yo yo champion. CAROL BATES, because of her indifference to men is the Dean of Women in a woman's university. BOBBY CRABTREE, a jet pilot has broken all world records. Girls, he is still hard to catch. KITTY BEAVERS, and her husband recently departed for Africa on a safari. ANTONIO WATERS, known to us as TONY Waters is becoming rich as a pizza king. His pizza restaurants are scattered throughout the United States. KAREN THRUSH, a rich heiress who recently inherited millions, on a world cruise with her husband, now owns three homes. JERRY REED, the world's most celebrated mountain climber, while wandering about in the Mountains of Tibet stumbled upon the abominable snowman. SARAH COLE, is now the shrewdest bookie in New York City. AUBREY WILLINGHAM, known now as Crash Willingham is a race car driver who recently took top honors in the Indianapolis 500. HARRY SARGENT is the country's spendthrift. Harry has squan- dered his millions attained through soil conservation awards on lavish parties. DAVID PINSON, known in the social set as Dangerous Dave runs a gambling casino in Reno, Nevada. PEGGY UNDERWOOD is now an espionage agent with a side line on casket sales. She is a partner with Bob. 5 ?or?+.A £ l'cK. BACCALAUREA T7 I'RVICE W. F. GEORGE -IGF SCHOOL AUDITORIUM SUNDAY, MAI 15, I960, gjOO p,M. Prelude and Processior !............ We are very proud of them all and a special salute to the Senior boys who will not be on the team next year. To the remaining ones. GOOD LUCK NEXT YEAR! Bringing special honors to ourschool were John Woodall and Jeri Goss. Jeri placed first in girls extemporaneous speaking while John placed second. Floyd Browning brought honor to the school by being placed on the all-star cast at state competition. For the second straight year our one act play has gone to state competition and done very well. This year Balcony Scene won third place in Austin. Here are a few familiar faces from last year’s ANNUAL SIGNING PARTY. Till- END MWMMO COMU
