The POLYSCOPE I928 if f a :mme u. f. ,W e e Calendar NOVEMBER Thurs. 3-Another little vacation for a couple of days. This time its State Teachers' Institute. Fri. 4-We beat, we beat, we beat Cedar Falls to the tune of 13 to 0. Mon. 7-I don 't know why, but it 's Nat 'l Educational week. Tues. 8-A very good talk by Mr. Gates of Waterlooiupon 'fThe Three I's of Success was in keeping with Educational Week. VVed. 9-We had a speech this morning. It was a very sweet one by Rev. Fudge of the Baptist church. Fri. 11-Three things happened today that were unusual: namely, lst an Armistice program with Arnold Johnson as the featured speaker-3 2nd, no school in the afternoong and 3rd, a rather disasterous football engagement with Webster City. The score was 18 to 2. Fri. 18-Another bit of hard luck, this time a gridiron Qno we didn 't have pancakesj battle with Dows. We had the short end of the 13 to 0 score. Mon. 21-Again I must utter that dread word: EXAMS. They 're rather crowded this time because of Thanksgiving. Thurs. 24-Thanksgiving and the annual Turkey day contest with Eldora. We felt that if we won all the time we ld discourage the boys, so we gave them the game. However, the defeat didn 't mar our appetites. Fri. 25-A day of recuperation from yesterday. Mon. 28-The football season is over and so basketball and wrestling started tonight. DECEMBER Fri. 9-Debate tryouts, and a couple of B. B. games at Owasa. We lost both. Beware, only 13 more shopping days until Christmas. Tues. 13-Some more B. B. at Wellsburg and some more losses. VVed. 21-Three new pep leaders were elected today. Luke Bruce, Burt Kroesen and Barney White. Give 'em a hand boys. Only 3 more shopping days until Christmas. Fri. 23-Today we had our Christmas Program. The Glee Clubs put on a Christmas play and there were a couple of other items. Instead of giving presents to each other we took the money and gave it to the poor. The collection was over 530. Sun. 25-Horray! A whole week of bliss in which to open presents, eat candy or what have you? Page 30
