It 's hotter than a certain place we know about. Thur. 8. School eonvenes only in the morning. We live in the bath-tub the rest ot' the day. Pity the poor warriors of the gridiron who hafta get out. Tues. lil. VVell, its cooled of a little. Beginning tomorrow, school is a whole day. Sat. 24. General rejoicing. We won 18 to 0 from Grundy Center. QYes, little boy,'it was a football game.J Wed. 28. School resembles a highway. So many signs that you can 't see the walls. Student Council canvassing is the reason. Fri. 30. Well, after a very hectic campaign Vern Newton is Pres.5 Pat McClure, Vice Pres., and Dolores Fiete, Sec. and Treas., of that august Qnot a monthj body, the student council. OCTOBER Sat. l. It seems like blue Monday. We had a football game HJ with West VVaterloo. The score was-no, we 'll spare you the agony. Wed. 5. Fall Festival. No school, but gobs and gobs of moisture. Rain. Thurs. 6. Rain, beautiful rain. Like heck! QI can 't say what I think.j Fri. 7. Senior drive. It was a line trip and there wasnlt a bit of trouble about getting back home all right. Qllyah queenlj Tues.. ll. A monster organization is being formed to revive Pep. We hope they succeed. Wed. 12. Examinations. Nui' said. V Sat. 15. Not so bad, not so good. Nevada 0, I. F. 0. Mon. 16. Let us bow our heads in thanks while Brother Patzer leads us in a word of prayer. Tests are over and not too many of us received yellow slips. Thurs. 19. We are again free to do as we please for a eouple of days. The occasion is teachers' institute. Fri. 20. Again there is rejoicing thruout the city. We came out on top in a little football contest with Eldora Training School. The score: 6 to 0. Sat. 28. Again I say, not so bad not so good. Hampton, a zero mark, I. F. ditto. Page 26
