The POLYSCOPE 1928 Senior Class History In the fall of 1924 a representative group of Iowa Falls youth, ninety-nine in number, entered the Iowa Falls High School in the Freshman class to gain knowledge not only thru book-learning but also thru practical experience. At the start of our high school career the following ofiicers were chosen: President, Robert Weldeu, Vice President, Mary Reppg Secretary and Treasurer, Clifton Ford, Class Advisor, Miss Fuller. To represent us in student goverment otherwise the Student Council, Vern Newton and Viola Smith were elected. We took part in social and athletic activities to full enough extent to show that good developments were possible. The second year our number had dwindled to eighty-three but our ambitions were not lessened. To head the class the following officers were picked: President, Vern Newtong Vice President, Clarence Tresemerg Secretary and Treasurer, Madaline Coxg Class Advisor, Miss Schlue. The Student Council Representatives were Robert Weldeu and Elinor Cobb. This year our part in school life grew and we were represented in practically all activities. The next year we entered the Junior Class as upper classmen with our number shrunk to sixtyesix but still going strong: Our ofhcers were: President, VVilbur VVindeekerg Vice Presi- dent, Walter Mullane Qthe first semester-J, and Doloris Fiete fsecond semesterj 9 Secretary and Treasurer, Robert VVelden. The Student Council Representatives were, Gordon Rosenberg and Doloris Fiete and the Class Advisor was Miss Soper. In athletics and other events we again look an active part. This was a year of many social affairs as there was the Junior-Senior party, the Senior-Junior party and the Junior-Senior Banquet which were all successful. Then, last but not least came the Senior year whose arrival is welcomed but whose departure is regretted. The officers for the year were: President, Howard Capwellg Vice President, Robert VVeldeng Secretary and Treasurer, Viola Smithg Class Advisors, Miss Trindle and Miss Soper. The Student Council oHicers and representatives were President, Vern Newton, Secretary and Treasurer, Doloris Fiete, and representatives, Grinnell Oswood and Zelpha Derbyshire. This year it may be said the class headed all athletic and social organizations. Some of the outstanding events were: Senior Drive, Junior-Senior Banquet, Class Day, then Commencement and high school life is finished. Page 20
