This is your amiable fortune-teller, Swami Phonibaloney, Have a seat while I tune in the year 1974 on my crystal ball--complete with TV aerial and chewing gum dispenser--and look up the class of '54, Ah, it's coming in, but it's foggy - oops, wrong channel. Come, come, my little time machine. Now I have it. Zounds, I see Bob Schelly, the great space conqueror, just leaving the premiere of the movie, l-lepcat, featuring the life story of the famous jazz singer, Ernie Del Rio. As he leaves the theater, he greets his old buddy, Art Clark, the well-known dancing master, whose sensational ballet, The Pink C1odhoppers, stars his newly-discovered ballerina, Jean Wilson. Bill Wise, a professor at Vassar College, is now conducting night classes in cooking, Among his many graduate students is the prosperous lady chef, Nell Johnston. I see several familiar faces in the Who's Who column of the Literary Journal. There's Barbara Tumer, celebrated dime mystery novelist, Shirley Watson, the psychologist, has just completed her 24th book, entitled How to Get Along With Your In-Laws. The great literary critic, Neva Layher, acclaims it Shirley's greatest masterpiece. Art Towle, Life magazine photographer, is busily taking pictures of lovely mink model, Maxine Stacy, Irene Thompson, while not raising show horses with Dick on their 5, 000 acre ranch, is busy raising little geniuses to send to Ione High School. The international tennis champion, Marilouise Mason, recently contributed 515, 000 to a fund--established by humanitarians Jean and Joan Kientz--for under- nourished Australian athletes. Roberta Custino married a millionaire soap tycoon. His company's motto: Chlorophy1l soap for a chlorophyll complexion, The well-known track star, Jim Grover, has just broken the world's record for running the mile . . . backwards! l l I ! Aha! I see a new building on Ione's main street. It is Shirley Bailey's Charm School. Across the street is a gigantic Super-meat-market owned by Bob Woolsey. His engineering course helps him tremendously in cutting up meat. Marie Smith has just made headlines as manager of a foreign sports car race track. At present she is sharing front-page honors with Marie Thomas, the flirtatious actress, who recently divorced her fifth millionaire husband, We mustn't forget Rosie Cook, she has really made a name for herself. She is now assistant secretary of the U, N, Red Tape committee . . . . . I think I'd better leave: they are now conducting an investigation of all red -haired fortune-tellers!

Seadcvz 71641047 Our first day at high school began with twenty-one frightened students comprising the freshman class--six boys and fifteen girls. On Friday, September 16, 1950, our dreaded initiation came, The initiation lasted a week, but it wasn't so bad, even though some of the moments were embarrassing, Gradually we got into the swing of things. Our officers for the first semester were as follows: President ------ Joan Kientz Secretary ----- Cecil Koenig Vice President - - - Nell Johnston Treasurer - - Grace Ann Jennings October 7, we gave the sophomores a freshman retum dance which everyone en- joyed. These were our officers for the second semester. President ------ Cecil Koenig Secretary ------ Jean Kientz Vice President ---- Jean Wilson Treasurer ----- Shirley Watson We could hardly wait for the next year because then it was our turn to initiate the freshman class. We gained four new students: Doyle Johnson, Art Clark, Neva Layher, and Barbara Turner, Election for sophomore class officers showed the following results. When our junior year began, there were twenty-three students in our class. Our Junior Play was a hilarious performance entitled AUNT TILLIE GOES TO TOWN, a three-act comedy concerning a ludicrous masquerade. Everyone who participated in the play had a wonderful time on stage and at the dance held afterward, The Junior Prom was the most spectacular dance given by the juniors. The dance being held in the Women's Club, the theme of it was Peter Pan. There were beautiful decorations, including a shell-shaped dais for the orchestra, a running stream meandering through the hall, and a bevy of decorative Peter Pan characters, The Junior Banquet featured an expose of faculty and student baby pictures, The long-awaited glory of our last year found all twenty-three of us mature and dignified U1 seniors.
