Sun Yet Wong Donald Amano, Albert Orita, Shigeo Sumida Ka Moolelo 0 Iolani The Ka Moolelo O Iolani staff composed of an inexperienced group of students began their school year under the advisorship of Mrs. Josephine Sulli- van. They set out with the aim of producing an annual worthy of the task of portraying the life of the school. With this aim came the many days and nights of hardwork and headaches usually associated with this type of work. However, it was not all work for in the many months of plan- ning and working together, the members became closer friends and learned to take on responsibility which is an asset to any young man. In all re- spects, it was interesting and educational for everyone of the staff members. The result of the 1949 Ka Moolelo is here before you. The toil of producing an annual.

The aim and purpose of the group was to take an active part in raising stand- ards of journalism in connection with the Imua and Ka Moolelo. According to the National Constitution members are chosen from the students enrolled in the high school who at the time of their selections meet the following requirements: they must be of at least junior standingg they must be in the upper third of their class in general scholastic standing at the time of their election, they must have done superior work in some phase of journalism or creative endeavorg they must be recommended by the advisor or by the committee governing publica tions, they must be approved by the executive secretary D.
