IOLANI-14 KAIMUKI-12 Iolani, beaten in a previous game by Punahou's point after touchdown, converted twice to give them a two point margin of victory over the Kaimuki Bulldogs. Harold Han, our hard driving fullback, kicked both conversions which enabled the Raiders to emerge on top. The Raiders scored both of their touchdowns in the first ICH minutes of the skirmish, while the Bulldogs punched over their tallies in the second and fourth quarters. Napoleon circled right end from the one for the first score and McKillop, in a deceptive three way handling of the pigskin, took a reverse and rambled 35 yards for the second. Only the persistence of Iolani kept the Bulldogs from pulling an upset. The game was one of the cleanest of the entire season as there was'only one fraction of the rules, that being an olfside penalty called against Kaimuki in the third period. Stopped for no gain. .1-Lan 38:2 'nl E IOLANI-6 PUNAHOU-7 The Red Raiders of Iolani suffered their third consecutive defeat with a heartbreak- ing 7-6 decision to the Buff and Blues. Iolani outplayed Punahou through most of the hard fought game, halting the feared running of Billy Heilbron and the dangerous aerial assaults of Dave Eldredge. Nursing a 6-0 lead with 25 seconds remaining in the half, the usually conservative Nuuanuans gambled on a fourth down pass that resulted in a Pun touchdown. Wilson of Punahou pluck- ed the aerial from the air and scooted 61 yards to score. Ane then spelled defeat for the Raiders as he booted the extra point. The Crimson Tide had enjoyed an early lead on Napoleon's 12 yard end sweep into the barn, but the conversion was blocked. Iolani played one of their best games of the season Y a 'J 41 4, , Gangway! Paoa passing to DeFontes for 14 yards and Akau crossing from the 9 accounted for the Saints' two tallies. Then they added two more points on a safety in the hnal period when Iolani's backfield muffed a snap from the center. Behind 15-0, Iolani roared back with Han driving and spinning his way 8 yards for the Raiders' lone tally. The year's final statistics revealed that the Crimsons led in the kickoff department with an ave- rage boot of 44.5 yards. The Raiders also were the best when it came to fumbling the least. They miscued only 11 times, recover- ing 9 of these.
