KAM 14-IOLANI 13 The Red Raiders climaxed their gridiron sea- son with a 14-15 defeat at the hands of a vastly improved aggregation from Kamehameha in an exhibition game at I-Ioolulu Park, Hilo, Hawaii. The Kam Warriors struck pay dirt first, once in the first quarter and other in the third quarter. Both scores and conversions were made by V. Funn and M. Prestidge respectivly. Ernest Hara tallied both scores on touchdown passes from Masa Yonamine. Wzilly Wong converted the first time, but missed on his second attempt. This colorful game was highlighted by a possible story book ending that had the fans on their feet. In the dying seconds of the game, E. Hara snagged a pass from Yonamine and galloped 60 yards to the 10 yard line, where L. Wong brought him down from behind. A crucial moment in the Iolani-St Louis game IOLAN1 21-KAIMUKI 6 The Red Raiders from upper Nuuanu hnished their schedule in the lnterscholastic League by defeating the scrappy Bulldogs from Kaimuki. 21- 6. The well tutored Braymen combined slashing running plays with deadly aerial forays to tally their scores in the first half. The first score came after the Red Raiders took the opening kickoff and marched 60 yards, climaxing the drive with a touchdown pass from Yonamine to Hara. The next score was set up by Yonamines pass to lvlaruyama. Yonamine then ran 13 yards to the three. Leota scored from that point. The Hnal tally was set up when Kaimuki was called for interference on end Maruyama at Kaimukis 10. A pass to Freedman from Yonamine was good for 8 yards and Leota finished it by going over. Kaimuki came back strong in the second half as they held the Crimson Tide at bay and scored on a beautiful pass from Kim to Hirata. Yonamine, Hara and Leota did most of the ball carrying chores, while the whole forward wall played another one of their bang up games. 76 IOLANI 20-FARRINGTON 12 The Red Raiders climaxed their 1945 season with a brilliant 20-12 victory over Farrington in the opener of the annual prep post-season double- header. A packed throng of about 28,000 fans saw the expertly drilled Crimson Tide outclass the Governors and also avenge a 13-7 setback which the Red Raiders suffered during the regular sche- dule. The Braymen tallied twice in the second quarter and once in the final period. Farrington scored their two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. For the victors, Yonamine, Leota and Masaki each scored one touchdown. Copp and Kahuanui scored Farringtons two touchdowns. Wallace Wong con- verted twice, while Kane of Farrington failed to convert. Masa Yonamine gave a sparkling indivi- dual performance, as he bore the brunt of the Raiders attack, and set up all their touchdowns. The lolani line charged through to block three Farrington punts. and throttled the Gov's vaunted T , as individual linemen broke in time and again to throw opposing backs for losses.
