CLASS ROLL THE 0 was 0 PRICKLY PEAR T, H 4 ,. ri l v iuumiors The Junior Class of 1933 hereby bequeaths to its successors its heritage of accomplishments and tribulations. In the fall of 1932 when all the members of the class had gathered together i for an election of officers under the leadership of the acting president, Elmore i Smith, and acting secretary, Ahneda Emery, the following officers were i elected: Wallace Lamoreux ,,,.. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,. Faculty Adviser al Football early claimed the attention of Smith, Lamoreux, VValsh, and Taylor, a11d at the same time Marie Thomas, editor of the CAPITAL CITY I COLLEGIAN, and Almeda Emery, editor of the PR-ICKLY PEAR were at work on the school publications. H When basketball season arrived, Lyman, Taylor and VValsh all did their bit on the maple floor to help Intermountain have a successful season. The junior class has kept up a good scholastic standing and one of its members, Chahner Lyman, has the distinction of being the only student in school to receive straight A's . Marie Thomas and Almeda Emery were members of the Pi Kappa Delta delegations which won third place at the regional convention of Pi Kappa Delta. Elmore Smith, Ardella Hanson, and Almeda Emery were respectively president, vice-president and secretary of the Associated Students of Inter- mountain. Minerva Henion and Andrew Darnell were members of the all school play Y cast. . Other members of the class have been active in Y. VV., Y. M., Student Senate, and in minor sports. i The junior-senior banquet held at the Placer hotel on May 5 was the climaxing social event of the year. - Such is our heritage. i I l l Marian Andrew Elva Bailey William Bowen Thelma Cobb Andrew Darnell Almeda Emery Cecil Flinders Dorothea Fullberg Edmund Hamel Ardella Hanson Howard Harman Minerva Henion Emma Kemp Wallace Lamoreux Chalmer Lyman Robert Mills Gladys Lin Pitts Janet Rathbun Nina Sackett Helen Seth Christine Small Charles H. THE l 101333 O PRICKLY I PEAR freshmen One day in the not very dim past Intermountain Union College was blessed with the most promising group of green freshmen ever to enter her portals. For a very few days this group hid in corners, meek and obedient, until, time lending courage, theybecame suddenly bold. To the dismay of the sophomores, the consternation of the faculty and trustees, and destruction of windows, paddles, and green ink, they asserted their rights and prepared to enter into the life of the college. Their first important step was the election of the following officers: Harold Hubert, president, Perry Chisholm, vice-president, Philip Waters, secretary, Claude Jolliff, treasurer, and Sherwood Atlas, student senate rep- resentative. Byllee Moore and Ben Evans were chosen athletic representa- tives. Perry Chisholm became president and Mary Coty was elected vice- president when Harold Hubert left at the end of the first quarter. With this group of officers the freshman class began its career. During the first quarter, the class sponsored a very successful Gay Nineties Party. People came in costume to the program given in the chapel, and later old-time dancing was held. A freshman dance was given during the winter quarter and was a great success both financially and socially. Many members of the freshman class have taken an active part in the activities of the school. The class as a whole has shown a willingness to co-operate with the student body of the college. The year is nearly over, and the freshmen are freshmen no longer, but have become loyal, willing parts of Intermountain Union College.
