Baseball Young but talented described this year’s Boys’ Baseball team. Previous varsity experience proved to be important for the Seniors on the team, but it was the Juniors who improved their game and put forth their best efforts. Allan Neill and Brian Ward, both top hitters, added to the team with their play while Sophomore Rich Sielicki had his chance to come through on the mound with his pitching. J.V. showed much promise towards varsity play next year. J.V. Coach Mr. A1 Holmes commented that the J.V. team is very strong and will be sending many players into varsity positions next year. Juniors Mark Alfano and Geoff Grillo both had some varsity playing time, and Sophomore prospects included Don Woodruff, Eric Jorgenson and Rick Goodwin. Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend! Consisting of 14 enthusiastic and spirited Vikings, the 1979 IHS Softball team possessed plenty of youth and talent. Al- though some members were plagued with injuries, the team was always optimistic and high-spirited. In his first year as Softball Coach at Inglemoor. Ron Romanick felt that the girls were enthusiastic and competitive. They set their goals high and worked hard to reach them. Assistant Coach Joyce Lyons added that while the team is young, many of the members have quite a bit of experience.
