With Miss Cora Homann teaching the students the basics of food preparation and serving, the students readied themselves for the future. Throughout the year the class planned many activities. The football, basketball and DECA banquets turned out fantastic. They even arranged a couple of wedding receptions. The classes well organized fund raisers made huge profits from hungry customers. Remember the Halloween Pumpkin Cookies and the Pumpkin Tarts for Thanksgiving? The teachers also enjoyed the many luncheons prepared by the students. Another large profit making idea was the Christmas Bakery. It sold pounds of Almond Roca, Peanut Brittle and fudge. Dozens of cookies were also sold to the teachers, and even to the students themselves. The students were well rewarded for their achievements. Any profits made went toward having dinner at different restaurants in the Seattle area. The year long class ended with the traditional Snoqualmie Falls Breakfast. 1. Mike and the other students running the shop did much more than just sell candy. Cleaning, stocking, advertis- ing and making displays were all done by the students. Owned and operated by the Deca Qub. the Student Store gives students a chance to run a small business and all of the work that goes along with it. 1. Girls’ Soccer, in its second year at IHS was a mixture of achievement and growth but also of some dis- appointment. Veteran seniors made up the majority of the varsity squad but Coach Sally Mitchell also re- marked on the powerful support of the juniors on the team. The juniors should provide a strong base for next year's squad. The season held some frustration for the varsity squad. Most of their losses were by only one goal which lessened hopes for a winning year. The JV team, coached by Ms. Jill Welker had an outstanding season. The girls gained a lot of experience on the field which contributed to the improvement in each girl’s playing ability. All in all. the season was one of experimenting to find what worked well and of dedication to the team and each other. Girls’ soccer is here to stay! 2.
