Leading the way was all- around Fernell Collins, who went undefeated in the vaulting competition with scores of 9.1 and high 8’s. This year’s senior power came from Linda Harrison, Paula Quillinan, and Annette Rayfield. Linda, who went to state once as a sophomore looked for another spot on the uneven parallel bars in state competition this year as well as Quillinan on floor exercise and beam. Rayfield, former all-around competitor, specialized in bars and vault and had a good chance to qualify for state. The team was sprinkled with sophomore talent. Joella Rohlinger scored up to an 8.6 on vault while Kathi Peccatiello scored an 8.65, also on vault. Janice Broman will be a promising competitor in the years to come, scoring a 6.85 on beam, along with Michaelanne Larramendy on bars. Mrs. Jill Welker had a very successful first year as Head Coach. Assistant Coach Mr. Dave Elverum, who has been with the team for three years says that this is the best the team has ever done. 6 Girls’ Gymnastics 75
