Training Today For Tomorrow The Department of Vocational Rehabilitation or D.V.R. was a program for those high school students who were more vocationally oriented than academic. D.V.R. was for those students who were interested in learning a skill during high school that could be continued after graduation, by either on the job training, apprenticeship positions or combinations with class situations. This was a specialized program which was especially helpful to those students who might not have finished high school otherwise. The success rate has been very high this year and also in the past. D.V.R. students have been trained as welders, beauticians, carpenters, bakers, deep sea divers and even horse trainers. The options were endless since the student could be sent to wherever he or she could receive the best possible training. One could see a fellow classmate at many of the Vocational Training Institutes throughout the area during the year. Doug Boyce Sheri O’Shaughnessy 1. Mr. Ellsworth Turple finds a little spare time to get some needed work done. 2. Chuckling over his class is Mr. Doug Boyce. 3. Mrs. Sheri O'Shaughnessy tries to smile despite the work piling up behind her.
