Diversity, Thy Name is English “On-going criticism and improvement” was the name of the game in Inglemoor’s English Department this year. This group of talented people had two ideas in mind: to reach every student in some way and to focus on much needed basic skills. By offering a wide variety of classes, teachers gave students the opportunity to choose what interested them, the level of difficulty they were most comfortable with, and the teaching method they preferred. The importance of reading and writing was stressed throughout, and much deserved attention was given to helping students develop these skills. The genre of literature this year was diverse. Poetry, drama, novels and writing were all studied. Many time personal values of the students which were based on the American Culture itself, were compared with those of other countries. This gave a fuller apreciation of the literature of both their own and of other cultures.
