“Guys and Dolls did indeed attract “A Bushel and a Peck” of people. The house, which is supposed to hold only 225, was filled with a record “Si Siverson Theatre crowd of 312. The second entire weekend was presold out, which broke a second record. The audiences were thrilled by the off-Broadway love story about Nathan Detroit (Doug Mossano) and his fiance of 14 years, Miss Adelaide (Shauna Lilly), and Sky Masterson (Steve Jones) who lures Sergeant Sarah Brown (played alter- nating nights by Anna Ralston and Ann Roetcisoender) to Havana to win a bet and ends up falling in love with her. The largest cast and crew ever of 65 members worked hard for eight weeks to become one precise unit. The prayer circle, formed each night, served to draw everyone closer and helped all get through the chaos of missing props, quick quick changes.sponging on and washing off Havana make-up and transforming room 101 from classroom to dressing room and back. The first snow on closing night didn’t prevent the cast party with its annual Napkin Awards at Totem Lake’s Pizza Hut. The directors did an excellent job of putting it all together. Mr. Hjalmer Anderson directed the action and coordinated the set building. Mr. Gerry Marsh and Mr. Joe Bynum rehearsed the 35-member orchestra. Mr. Don Hedstrom directed it and rehearsed the vocal parts. Mr. Ruben Van Kempen choreographed the dances from chorus line to crapshooters. Many students assisted the directors. Stage manager. Bill Cooper organized the tech, crew; Laurel Cancilla designed all the costumes; Kris Olsen took charge of the light booth, and Patty Pfiefer and Kathy Lockhart checked props. Others that helped were Bruce Stewart with make-up and Mrs. Morgan who did anything needed from sewing buttons to bringing lemonade. “Guys Dolls” was one very successful, enjoyable show. 1. Adelaide (Shauna Lilly) and Sarah (Anna Ralston) encourage each other to Marry the Man Today. 2. Miss Adelaide (Shauna Lilly, seated) and her farmerettes (Pam McLean. Lewann Newcomb. Laura Fry. Anna Ralston, Teresa Flcminq and Diane Lewis) sing “about you.” 3. Nicely-Nlcely Johnson (David Rice). Nathan (Doug Mossano) and Benny Southstreet (Darren Bourne) discuss where the crap game will be held. 4. The Save-A-Soul Mission staff and a prayer meeting crowd of crapshooters and their dolls listen as Nicely-Nlcely Johnson (David Rice) gives testimony of his wild dream. Musical 35 6. Miss Adelaide (Shauna Lilly, middle) and her debu- tantes (Diane Lewis. Lewann Newcomb. Christie Hed- man. Anna Ralston.Teresa Fleming. Pam McLean. Dee Dee Keyes. Karen Skrinde and Laura Fry) kick it up in the hot box. 7. Sarah (Ann Roetcisoender) listens as Sky (Steve Jones) sings about his time of day.

78 - ’79 Got Off to a Successful I. Vicc-Principal. Mr. Dick Spldey Sorenson, takes time out from the main office to help I. Mrs. Mavis Ensign busily goes about her secretarial duties in the main office. 3. Vice-Principal. Mr. Dave Jones, takes a breather in between student conferences. Dick Sorensen Viking Administrators Mr. Dave Rumppe. Mr. Dave Jones and Mr. Dick Sorensen, started off this year with a burst of enthusiasm. Student attitudes changed notice- ably this year, giving the administration added incentive to make school more worthwhile. Students seem to be willing to work and were a lot more open minded about the teachers, classes and classwork. Inglemoor would not have survived this year without the super staff running the “nerve center” of the school: the administrative office. Faculty 37
