Going for the perfect dive is Shari Moen. 3. Team members watch the race in anticipation. The I.H.S. Girls Swim Team with coach, Kathy Herman, really had a fantastic season. Kathy Herman, a P.E. teacher at Leota Junior High, was in her third year as a coach at Inglemoor. Because of her coaching advice, the Inglemoor swim team advanced 3 notches. At the regionals meet which took place on November 8th and 9th, everyone participated and did well. Shari Moen qualified for state placing 9th, and Debbie Harrington took 10th place. Theresa Goetz, (backstroke). Sue Minor (breaststroke), Elisa Fowler (butterfly) and Candi Costi, (freestyle) all qualified for state in their respective areas. Sue Minor qualified in the 50 yard freestyle at the first meet and in the 100 yard free at the Renton meet. Overall the girls really put out the effort. Shari Moen placed 24th in diving, the relay team placed 30th and Sue Minor placed 14th in the 50 yard. At the Awards Banquet, special acknowledge- ments were given to Team Captain, Elisa Fowler; Most Inspirational. Sue Minor; Team Clown, and the Chatter Box and Special Loaf of the Year Award was presented to Marcia Damerow.

WraaPl I S Vikings Keep on Truckin’ This year’s Cross-Country team worked hard and put forth a great effort. Even though their wins were not many, they still displayed the Viking pride of giving it their best! They were led by captain Greg Lamb and co-captain Carla Randall. Brent Carlson who worked out hard all summer was voted most inspira- tional even though he broke his leg during the first meet of the season. As head coach, Mr. Jim Kline and his assistants. Deanna Buskas, Dick Yonk. and David Long were proud of their team. The Viking Cross- Country team worked very hard for their school and should definitely be applauded!! THANKS TEAM! 1.
