Best Winning Season Ever! Ms. Cora Homann. in her seventh year as Coach, led the Girls’ Tennis Team to another season of victory. Seven wins and four losses, the best season ever, took some of the team members to Regionals. They beat Bothell for the second year in a row, and for the first time since Ms. Homann became Coach, they overpowered Lake Washington placing the Vikings fourth of eleven schools. Awards were given to Kim Garrett as Team Captain, to Gail Taylor for Most Inspirational and Polly Corwin earned Most Improved. Special recognition was given to sophomore Yvonne Foster who did well throughout the season playing Varsity Singles. This is an accomplishment as this position is rarely held by a sophomore. 1. Suzy Morgan laughed at her opponent as she fell over the net. 2. Polly Corwin wipes her fingerprints off her murder weapon. 3. One shot and I'm good for the whole day.” 4. Gall Taylor looks around trying to find a way out of her match.

The Inglemoor-Volleyball team began the 78 season with new coaches. Mrs. Bus- kas replaced Mrs. O'Shaughnessy in coach- ing the varsity team and Mrs. Lowry took Mrs. Schneider’s place in coaching the junior varsity team. One of the highlights for the Viking team was playing the previous KingCo Champions, Mercer Island. The game was at night and although the Vikings were defeated, the girls attracted a record attendance at the game. Another highlight of the season was when the Vikings took on the Juanita Rebels at the last home game and the A.S.B. officers. Eric Lucks and Craig Kelly acted as commentators of the game, inspiring the team to another victory. The varsity team closed its season with a 6-5 record. The climax of the team’s season was beating Bellevue and Interlake who had earlier defeated the Vikings in practice games. Special recognition were awarded to Debbie Maples for captain and Most Valuable Player and also to Becky Hutchin- son for Inspirational. Because of the coaches' interest in building the team for the next year there were only five seniors chosen for the varsity team. Leaving behind them many memories and accomplishments were: Teresa Hamilton. Debbie Maples. Shannon Skibeness, Annette Rayfield. and Ramona Yonk. The junior varsity team closed their season with a 5-6 record. The team con- sisted of three juniors and nine sophomores. Coach Lowry was pleased with the girls and felt confident in the building of next year’s team. Special recognition was awarded to: Captain. Monica McDonald; Most Valuable Player, Karen Dawley;and Most Inspiration- al. Suzy Dahl. r 2 1. Karen spikes as Monica watches, prepared to cover a block. 2. Monica.
