Spring came early with the unusual sunshine, bringing the usual “Spring Fever and Senioritis. Many special events and activities made the Spring of 79 a time to remember. This year’s intermittent Talent Show, sponsored by the Science Club, provided two evenings of excitement and original entertainment. The highlight was. once again, the rockin’ sounds of Will Haley and the Vomits, featuring faculty members. The winners of the several categories were treated to a special Feast banquet. International Weekend. March 22-24. was put together by David Agnor and the Language Arts Department. Several exchange students from other schools in the area came for the weekend to view another American family and school. Many activities were planned for them including coming to school with their host, attending a Pep Assembly, going roller skating, having a picnic at Denny Beach and a potluck dinner. They enjoyed the weekend and meeting many people. By students’ choice, this year's Spring Tolo was a Sadie Hawkins Dance. Many couples, complete in overalls and cowboy hats, danced in the gym to the sound of United Flyte. The dance, sponsored by the junior class, was an evening of “overall” success. Sun Valley. Idaho, was the spot for this year’s annual spring ski trip organized by Mr. Roger Jewell. The students came back bronzed or reddened, as the case may be - by a week of skiing in the sun. Despite the long, boring bus ride, everyone seemed to have a really good time. “Sky-high” Viking Spirit was demonstrated by the Great Cheer-Offs. They were sponsored by KYYX and DJ's Sound City, held at Lake Hills Teen Dance Center. The cheerleaders’ dance, choreographed by senior Pam McCormick, was one factor in the Vikings' success. Inglemoor defeated Bothell. Mercer Island and Redmond to advance to the finals. Mr. Hjalmer Anderson and the drama department did well at WATA (Washington Association of Theatre Arts) competition. They received Best Musical Cutting for “Guys and Dolls.” and Laurel Cancilla and Jenny Goldsworthy received a third in Puppetry. Inglemoor was well represented in KingCo Solo and Ensemble competition. Out of 22 people sent on to state competition, six were from Inglemoor. Ann Roetcisoender. alto and Steve Jones, tenor, both won the state competition in their respective categories. 98 Spring Activities Vikings Get Into 1. “The Creature Creeps” onto I.H.S. Stage 1. Daisy (Jenny Goldworthy) enthusiastically tells Frank (Tracy Walloch) about the castle. 2. That's close enough. says Heinrich (Alan McKnight) as Mord (David Rice) approaches. Talent once again flowed this Spring as the Drama Department en- tertained many audiences with The Creature Creeps,” a three-act comedy written by Jack Sharkey. The plot involved a “mad scientist and his assistant who attempted to conduct a secret experiment in a Tran- sylvanian castle. Their plans were al- tered, however, when the scientist’s not-so-bright daughter dropped in with her American companions. The doctor’s experiment was near comple- tion as villagers dropped in and fiances disappeared only to find out in the end that the joke was on everybody. This fast-paced spoof on every horror story ever written brought out the consid- erable talents of the cast and their Director, Mr. Hjalmer Anderson. The cast of The Creature Creeps includes David Rice as Mord.Kim Baskins as Babsy Ballou.Tracy Walloch as Frank Sterling. Jenny Goldsworthy as Daisy VonBlitzen. Cheryl Bames as Hannah Zltzen.
