When the pioneers and their wagons moved on, a few of the more adventurous remained and matriculated in the University. Several are still enrolled, and will receive degrees in October. Some of the pioneer students were caught by Indians and scalped, and this quaint custom has come down to us today. Before starting for Bloomington to enter the Uni- versity, the student should provide himself with the official Catalog of the University. This is a neat and comprehensive little booklet of some 455 pages, giving reliable information on all points and answer- ing all questions the new student is likely to ask, except where to go, what to do, and how and when to do it.
