The citation stresses that a good mother is an abiding -influence. Above: Dr. Clinton File and james Turney present American Legion Honor Awards to Eighth Grade winners from county schools. john Postlewaite and Nancy Howe were the proud winners from Indiana. john D. Varner was the recipient of the Rotary Club Scholarship Award of one hundred dollars for each year of successful work at Indiana State Teachers College. The scholar- ship requires that the recipient be in the top third of his class and that he become a teacher. Below left: Principal Lubold presents Track Coach jack Kurtz with the trophy symbolic of the County Track Champion- ship, Class A. Right: Baseball Coach Kenneth Dav-is fondles the Tri-County League Baseball Championship Trophy. Unde- feated for two years, the team won 39 of the last 40 games. An average of 975. Wow! 1
