Kevin Lynch at short stop and second base was very quick, thinking at all times. Mike Truitt, infielder at second base and shortstop, was a good base runner with a great arm for catching and hitting. Also Dana Long played as right outfielder, a quick and aggressive hitter, he was a dependable and good all-around player. Leading off the IV players was team captain David Smith, Wl1O was the Catcher and a tremendous team player. Pitcher, Ronnie Dickerson, was the work horse and a very dedicated player, Ralph Hudson, an infielder, kept the boys together. Ralph was the assistant coach when coach Palermo was not available. Mike Evans, a steady glove man, and Ricky Hitchens were also infielders. Ricky, a fine ball player, was also the team's public relations man, Steve McCabe was the utility infielder and could be counted on both at bat or in the field. Outfield positions were very well covered by Clarence Gibbs, who had good speed and was an asset to the team, leff Givans, a good glove man, and Kenny Hawkins, who had good speed and was a steady player. Ricky Evans, both outfielder and designated hitter, improved greatly. lim Weaver was a dependable utility player. Rex Powell, Brice Hickman, and jamie McCabe, all outfielders, were dedicated players and were always prepared to replace a starter, Bat girls this year were Beth Turner, Kim Murray, and Amy Hohmeier.
