Iietls take a fast peek at some of the wonders of the world, as one might see them in our science department. Mr. Hendy will give you freshmen a big surprise with his funny, but informative, revelations. As a sophomore you'll slice up frogs and learn what your grandmother means to you from Miss Peebles. By this time youlll begin to see the light, and now the fun really starts. As a junior in chemistry with Mr. Bute, youlll discover the ways of saving money by making your own iodine and toothpaste. You should, of course, be thinking of a lifels occupa- tion by this time, so Mr. Bute will show you how to run a still, and you might become a beverage tycoon! As a sentimental senior who really knows the ropes, be sure to sit in class with Phil Physics CMr. Tapleyj to learn all about manls discoveries from the wheel to the atom bomb, spiced with Phil's mid-western humor. MUSIC DEPARTMEX T Anything, from the sprightly strains of Pan and his pipes to the latest Bop, Rag, or Jazz, falls into the realm of our music department. There they train anyone from fleaweight soprano to heavyweight bass until they sing in beautiful harmony. Diligent freshmen and sophomores learn sf-ales and tunes, while the harmony classes learn to write them. The strange sounds which emerge from the fourth floor are the net results of the bands, orehestras, and miscellaneous in- struments. Music hath power to sooth the savage breast,'l but the music tear-hers often wonder about its various efferts on their pupils. L . .su er We ART DEPARTMENT Inspiration! Amazement! Amusement! Yes, all these and more are provided by the efficient. art department. If you are an aspiring Degas, or a simple doodler, the art staff is always pre- pared to discover your latent talents. The freshie, who arrives in art 1 may, by throwing the right splotc-hes in the right places, become a genius of modern art.
