Meanwhile, be- hind the tables, Miss Solfermoser is listening patiently to the sad tale of a student who is Hjust too sick to stay in school another periodf' The dragnet staff will continue their wishing until the happy day Uanuary 81, 20455 when there will he no more absences or tardiness in our school. 12 GRADE ADVISORS According to psychologists all people are born honest. Some of our Hydeparkers seem to be try- ing to prove them Wrong Cin the interest of science, of coursej. VVhen asked why they cut, they answer, 'fMaybe I was horn that way?', To our grade advisors this is strictly a hypo- thetical question. Their job is to find lem, chase lem, sink lem. They go about their ardu- ous task with this thought: firmness, but fairness. In the interests of our hardworking grade advis- ors, they should start verifying the theories of the phychologists. If you are in the dark as to how the solution was arrived at. find out in an algebra eourse at llyde Park. Besides algebra. which may he studied for two years, this Hyde Park math department, under hfrs. Shull's direetion, offers eourses in essential math, geometry, and solid geometry. As well as being essential to the engineering or sc-ienee student, the prac'tic'al applieationsof math are a nevessity for all. LANGUAGES C'est si hon, yes, it is very good to study a language at Hyde Park. Itls educ-ational and useful too, if you dig ancient 1-ivilization and myths and plan to her-ome an M.lJ.. then your meat is the language of the Roman. Latin will also give you a better understanding of basie English. A person interested in seienee or teeh- nology would really be a crazy mixed up kid if he did not take German. Now, for those who are more artistieally inelined and wish to pursue a Course in liberal studies or business, an interesting term in Freneh or Spanish will fill the hill.
