Dedication We, the senior class of 1958. dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Helmuth R. Kurth, who so faithfully served as a member of our Board of Ed- ucation for thirty years. He acted in the capacity of President for eighteen years. At the time of his resignation in 1957, he had been re-elected for another three year term. During his thirty years of service, he was absent from but eleven regular or special Board meetings. Mr. Kurth took a very active part in the affairs of the Minnesota School Board Association for fourteen years. In 1948 he was pre- sented the Minneapolis Star-Tribune Award for outstanding educational leadership in the State of Minnesota. ln 1954 Mr. Kurth was recognized as tlie outstanding school board member from McLeod County. This honor was bestowed hy the Min- nesota State Fair Association. Finally, in 1955. the Distinguished Service Award was presented to Mr. Kurth through the Minnesota Education Association. Because of his genuine love for boys and girls, and his deep concern for the welfare of our faculty, we will always remember Mr. Kurth as a tireless worker for public education.
