S undlemttt Life Att ll-EG Student life at HCC includes ac- tivities in which the entire student body is invited to participate, whether to support the college, the students, or the various athletic events. Most of the ac- tivities of this type are sponsored by the student government. One such activity was the watermelon feed held in the dorm parking lot. Free watermelon was offered to students who wished to meet old and new friends while ushering the fall semester. A night coffee was held for the night students at HCC. Doughnuts, desserts and coffee were offered in the basement of the Student Union. During Spirit Week several ac- tivities were held in which the students and faculty participated in order to show their school spirit. A different theme was presented for the different days of the school week, with hat day being the most popular. Several dances were held for the students in the auditorium of Lockman Hall, such as the one held after homecoming. Seminars designed to help the students cope with personal pro- blems or the introduction to col- lege life were held throughout the school year. Convocations by various artists were held in Lockman auditorium in order to acquaint students with the many types of music available. Life at college is not all study- ing. lt does offer many oppor- tunities to meet other students and get involved in what is hap- pening on campus. Af Y I '55, . JW, 3 1.
