They were: Jo Ann Vickery, Pat Nunemaker, Bob Gooley, Jay Dee Hedrick, Sam Thompson, Pat Ott, Gloria Hinds, Karen Hammel, Alice Gooley, Rosalie Moldenhauer, Norma Follis, Leonard Houser, Martha Elett, Larry Mailing, Bob McClurg, Barbara Covey, Diana McVoy, Marilyn Andrews, and Ronnie John- ston. The tw o teachers who started us on our way were Mrs. Steele and Mrs. Musgrave. Sue Rader, James Hoch, and Dan Shivley joined us in the second grade and Martha Elett left. This year our teachers were Mrs. Vernerder and Mrs. Ensminget. During the third grade Carol Poehler, John Norwood, and Sonja Alford entered our class, this year being taught by Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Hauenstein. In the fourth grade Gloria Bil came and Martha Elett returned. Miss Gesaman and Mrs. Hauenstein were our teachers. Mr. Armstrong and Mrs. Hauenstein were our teachers for the fifth grade. Joining us during that year were: Roma Swindler, Ronnie Earlywine, and Barbara Wright. Gloria Bil left the class. Brenton Quinn joined the class and Carol Poehler left during the sixth grade. Our teachers were Mrs. Hauenstein and Mr. Lahr. Mrs. Lawyer was our sponsor in the seventh grade. Wanda Waters joined the class and Gloria Bil re- turned. Our sponsor in the eighth was Mr. Wohlford. New students were Jim Gelzleichter and Jo Ann Kohr. In our freshman year Donna Hoover, Mike Lantz, Harry Fahrnow, and Tonja Mote entered our class and Carol Poehler returned. Sponsoring our class was Mr. Baker. During our sophomore year Paul Miller and Lmda Teusch joined our class. This year a long awaited moment arrived, we ordered our class rings. Our sponsors were Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Dorman. We were kept busy in our junior year, but we didn ' t have any new students. This was our money making year. We sold magazines, had the concessions at the basketball games and sold Christmas candy, (continued on page 92) 43- Senior Class Prophecy This is Station HTGN. We are broadcasting from Huntington Township School in Huntington County. Members of the Class of 1961, who graduated 50 years ago are meeting here in this year 2011. All 40 members of the original class are to be present today. About one-half of the Class has already arrived. Tonya Mote, Leonard Houser and Bob Gooley have all traveled more than 2000 miles to be here today. 1 see standing over there in the corner Gloria Bil, Barbara Covey, Jo Ann Vickery and Barbara Wright. Those four ladies were all married in the same wedding 49 years ago. I have heard of double weddings, but never of a quadruple wedding. Here comes some more class members now, among them is Purdue ' s Band Leader, Jay Dee Hedrick, Concert Pianist Karen Hammel, and the President of the United States, Rosie Molden- hauer. This is a famous class. On my left 1 see Mr. Mrs. Ronnie Earlywine and their 36 grandchildren. Behind them are three famous retired Generals of the Army, Ronnie Johnston, Paul Miller and a 7 Star General, Brenton Quinn. Outside 1 see Sonja Alford, a well-known ballet dancer, Larry Melling a scientist for General Motors,- and Linda Teusch, the first hometown girl we have seen today, surrounding Jim Gelz- leichter ' s sports car which has just come out on the market. Incidentally the slip-covers were de- signed by another member of the class. Sue Rader. My these people are energetic for their age. All of the Class Members are over 66 years of age. In front of the stage 1 see a group of Professors. Marilyn Andrews, who started as an elemen- tary teacher, Bob McClurg, a mathematical genius, Roma Swindler, a perfect example of a Home Economist and Sam Thompson the former coach of the New York Nickerbochers make up the group. 44 Some of the people who have helped put our town on the map and who are members of the Class are Alice Gooley, the present Mayor of Huntington, Gloria Hinds, who has brought Paris hair- styles here to Huntington, Donna Hoover, President of the Hoover Vacuum Company, Mike Lantz, the first man ever to build a home on Mars and Wanda Waters who has made a very good name for herself in the Netropolitan Opera House. Coming through the door at this moment is Martha Elett, who is often seen in the Max Fac- tor Commercials because of her wavy white hair. With her is Norma Follis who is the famous inventor of the strawberry flavored glue used on all stamps and envelopes. Here comes the Comedian of the Class, Crazy-legs Hoch. At this moment he is dancing ' a jig, holding tightly to his cane. Two well-known people in our town, Diana McVoy and Patti Ott, co-owners of the Blue Crystal Nigh Club are here with us today. It is just about time for things to get under way. Here comes Jo Ann Kohr who peddled her bicycle across town to be here with us. The last of the group to arrive is John Norwood, who is a lively bachelor and has lived up to his name as lover-boy, Carol Poehler who looks as young as ever with her skirt above her knees, Dan Shively who has become a famous manufaturer of Tall Men ' s Clothes. In the background we now hear the singing of the School Song led by Pat Nunemaker. This concludes our program for today. Tune in again next week same time and same sta- tion. After earning some money we had to spend some of it in preparation for the Junior- Senior Reception, which was held in Fort Wayne at the Van Orman Hotel. For our sponsors we had Mrs. Johnson and Mr. Betterly. Our senior year was another full year. We had charge of the publication and sale of the Medita. We sold Christmas cards and wrappings, and homemade cakes at all of our home basketball games. The proceeds of these activities went toward our trip. Sponsoring our class this final year were Mrs. Helen Kreiger and Mr. Betterly. pernor; 92 Dine and Skate at Rollerland South Jefferson Street Huntington, Indiana Compliments V. p.
