U I , I ulmmmuuuuumuru X' 2 at f L SENIOR CLASS 4. N .11 We four members of the class of 57 boarded a jet helicopter, piloted by SHIRLEY FOLLIS and headed for the Indiana State Fair. As we circled the fair grounds Shirley released the Ding-Whing and out we sailed to the front gate, There to greet us was CARL WALL, the Mayor of Indianapolis and ROLLAND HOCH, Indiana's Governor. Carl and Rolland escorted us to the race track to see that overly publicized old nag, Winnie Pooh, the III, driven by IIM SPEEDY SAILORS. After wishing Jim good luck we turned to leave the tracks and saw that roving Casonova, TOM EARLYWINE. In the shadows of the bleachers Tom was placing his life savings of 3643 on Winnie Pooh's competitor Stagnant. Continuing on our way we decided to stop at the charming little cafe Mary An' Bobs'. We were honored to have as our waitress, Mrs. Robert Boyer, the former MARY ANN FALK. Stepping outside we heard the wail of a siren. Screeching past us went an advertising car, piloted by LOIS SANDS. Lois was advertising The Dazling Audacious Style Show of 1966! Immediately we walked to the Woman's Building to attend the style show, sponsored by Beadys' Lingerie Shop. Being extremely busy making such fdevas- tatingj apparel, MARVIN BEADY had appointed as his business manager LARRY LANDRUM. Larry was privileged to have as his secretary LENNA MAE OLDFIELD, who was displaying her fine qualities. Larry's wife, CAROLANN HALL, was by his side to see that he was concentrating on numbers rather than figures. Music preceding the 10:00 show time was presented by that master of the ivorys with a toothy smile and wavy hair, CLIFFORD DEWITT. He winked at the 4-H girls from H. T. H. S. who were sitting with their capable leader, SHIRLEY KEPLINGER. Shirley is learning a great deal from the kids! The curtain went up and the baldheaded M. C. , DAN MERRYMAN, welcomed us. Dan's baldheadedness, he told us after the show, was due to his passion for corn whiskey. The first model to appear was EVA SHELHAMER, Eva was wearing her own creation of a jet-spun play suit. Next on the program was ROXANNA SWINDLER, who was wearing a white cosmic-spun wedding gown which she was planning to wear at her wedding to Tom McNally. Following Roxanna, Dan presented MARGARET VAN METER and BONNIE SETTLEMYRE. fMargaret was attired in an air spun bubble, Bonnie was wearing the matching pin.J From the style show we traveled down to the midway. There was JOE CALLAHAN shouting exuberantly. Come one, Come All, See the l-luman Cannon-ball, GARNET RUNYON. Our gaze, following Garnet through the-air, stopped when it reached the trapeze performer, SUE KLINE, 3, OOO inches in the air. Sue, billed as Mademoiselle Fifi, was jumping rope on a 4-inch-square platform, blindfolded. She told us it was one of her easier feats.

I, Shirley Follis, will my ability to attend all home basketball games, etc. , free of charge to Nan Harrick. I, Carolann Hall, will my ability to know it all to Wanda Cundiff. I, Rolland Hoch, will my ability to be late for bookkeeping class 9 days out of I0 to Arnold Deiringer. I, Sandra Jackson, will my shorthand ability to Carol Keel. I, Shirley Keplinger, will my ability to skip class and get away with it to Judy Fulhart. I, Sue Kline, will my athletic ability to Charlotte Yake. I, Carolyn Krider, will my position as Cheerleader and my cheerleader outfit to Larry Wilour. I, Larry Landrum, will my suppressed desire to go to sleep in basketball to Dave Wechsler. I, Jay Laurie, will my ability to have a clean shaven face while at school to Henry Lahr. I use the Gillette light shaver. Do you use the Heavy? I, Marvin Milholland, will my ability to drive to school three feet behind Halon Wa1ton's car to Glenn Slusser I, Bob Mitchell, will my ability to spend my money in more than one place to Marvin Lahr. I, Lenna Mae Oldfield, will my ability to be hypnotized to Helen Houser, although she is in a daze anyway. I, Barbara Paxton, will my ability to win the citizenship award to Ruth Ann Cobbs. I, Patti Phillips, will my quiet laugh to Sidne Oden. I, Larry Rader, will my ability to sleep in study hall to Rex Baxter. I, Garnet Runyon, will my ability to run through a stop light and not get caught to Rebecca Phillips, but donft make a habit of it, Becky. I, Jim Sailors, will my jewel box to Jack Colgan if he can find a use for it. I, Lois Sands, will my ability to sing a solo to thousands of people in the eastern part of the United States to Sandra Bryan. I, Bonnie Settlemyre, will my long hair to Susie Bailey so her's will be long again. I, Eva Shelhamer, will my height to Jerry Knight. May he use it wisely. I, John Shoemaker, will my ability to leave all girls alone in my Senior year. I, Charles Swales, will my ability to run over to the Bulldog Garage between classes and still make it to 3 out of 4 classes on time to Bob Norwood. U I, Roxanna Swindler, will my quiet ways to Virginia Lee, I, Fred Tobin, will my position on the basketball team to Paul Sunderman. I, Margaret VanMeter, will my ability to wear a size 4 shoe to Carolyn Moldenhauer. I, Carl Wall, will my ability to be 6' 3 to William Weaver, I, Halon Walton, Jr. , will my ability to be late for school every morning to John Dunnick.

Proceeding down the midway we observed HALON WALTON and his Congo Rhythm-Makers, featuring CAROLYN KRIDER, singing her latest hit, When My Love for Carl Goes Bye-Bye. We could hardly draw the male member of our group away, but he finally consented when he heard a terrible racket to the left of us. There was MARVIN MILHOLLAND creating quite a bit of attention by merchandising his combination potato peeler, carrot slicer, cabbage shredder, orange juicer, can opener, onion dicer, meat chopper, grape squeezer, and wine maker! Next to Marvin, stealing some of his customers by blowing glass shoes, was that celebrated, renowned SHOE- MAKER, JOHN. As we were ready to leave the midway, we paused to look at an artist, dressed in a smock, bermuda shorts and and socks, a beret, and holding a palette. Pushing our way through the crowd, we discovered BOB MITCHELL, painting a portrait of a lovely, imaginative ideal face. As the model turned toward us, we were greatly surprised when we saw our former school chum, BARBARA PAXTON. Barbara was making her living by posing. Our next stop was the Horse Barn. We found that most distinguished Doctor of Animals, LARRY BARBER. He was working on the famous horse Winni Pooh, who had contracted a pain in his third molar. PAT PHILLIPS, horses' aid, was floating Winnie Pooh's teeth. An added event to this year's State Fair was the sports event, featuring the World's olympic champions in the mile run and broad jump. The mile record set by CHARLES SWALES was one minute and 21 seconds, while the star broad jump champ, FREDDIE TOBIN, has set a record of 39 feet 10 112 inches. In the agricultural building we saw the floral display. The Grand Prize winner was entered by Jackson's Green- house. SANDRA JACKSON, after spending many years of hard labor, had finally achieved her lifetime goal. As we left the agricultural building we met LARRY RADER, who owned a drive-in fruit market on the corner of Cabbage Head Boulevard and Fig Lane. Larry said business was just driving in and driving out. Ending our weary, but exciting day at the State Fair we saw a sloppily dressed character. We looked at him with the utmost distaste, when who to our wandering eyes should appear but JAY LAURIE. He was in disguise helping the F. B. I. To Catch A Thief. Finding all the class of 1956 of sound mind?. and doing well in their chosen professions, we four members of the class of '57 boarded our jet helicopter for the journey home, where we were to give a report of our findings to the Huntington Township Board of Directors.
