Cfadd .yidforg In the fall of l94l, forty-three frightened and very much bewildered children came to school for the first time. Of these, twelve were destined to graduate from good old Huntington Twp. They were Joanne Reed Bob Gordon, Ronald Yake, Jerry Tobin, Max Thrasher, Richard McHenry, Burdell Hildebrand, Dean Barton, Dick Benson, Fred Dittcn, and Devoe Cobbs. The class was divided and the teachers were Mrs. Steele and Miss Michels. Starting the second serester we had another member, he was Gale Ruschhaupt from Lancaster. Finding that school wasn't so bad after all, we found ourselves ready for the second grade. Our class was again divided, this time between Mrs. Vernerder and Miss Borders. The class was again increased by the addition of Mary Merryman from Riley and Donald Vickery from Rock Creek. Starting to get used to the old grind we again found the class divided between Mrs. Vernerder and Miss Fleck. The new faces in the class were Carolene Robbins from Bippus, Anita Stricker from State Street School, and David Ellet from Huntington Catholic. We started the fourth grade with Miss Gesaman as our teacher and this tire the class was not divided. The new addition to the class was Barbara Harrell from Salem. The fifth was really a thrill because we were having our first man teacher Mr. Kitt, who disliked spelling as much as we did, instead he read stories to us. The new additions were Regina Rinehart from Horace Mann and Donna Keplinger from Jefferson. Starting to feel that we were really getting along in school we were finally ready for the sixth grade. Our teacher was Miss Bitner. The new members of this class were Waneta Frantz and John Gibson from Lincoln, and Richard Johnson from Roanoke. Now that we were finally in Junior High, we felt as if we were Big Wheels. Our Sponsor was Mr. Pence. In discovering how things are run we entered the eighth grade. Again our sponsor was Mr. Pence. The class was two members less this year because of Anita Stricker and Richard Johnson moving away. Then we were in high school and a little confused about majors, minors and credits. Our sponsor was Miss Link. The newconers were Frank Garrison from Clear Creek and Spencer Fisher who care in the last part of the year fron Lancaster. As we were getting adjusted to high school we started our Sophonore year. Our sponsor was Mrs. Davis. The class was missing one member, this being Gale Ruschhaupt. Also Richard Johnson was back from a year at Union. With a host of new activities and duties to attend to we started a very busy Junior year. Our sponsor was Mrs. Johnson. There were three new members although Anita Stricker, this High, and Paul Shull At last we were since we were in the two had previously attended school here. They were time fror Larwill, Gale Ruschhaupt from Huntington from Cochran, Pennsylvania. finally to the point that we had dreamed about ever first grade. Our sponsor for this, our Senior and very last year, was Mrs. Johnson. I
