MAE NEWMAN For a number ot years Mae Newman has dealt with the prob- lems ot the girls at Huntington High School. Besides being dean ot girls, Miss Newman teaches several classes in mathematics. She is president ot the Huntington Teachers Credit Union and is a member ot the executive com- mittee ot the State Education Association. She is a member ot the Huntington Altrusa Club, Cur- rent History, Delta Kappa Gamma, and the American Association ot University Women. Miss Newman attended West Virginia University and there received her A.B. de- gree. She later completed the work on her M.A. degree at Co- lumbia University, She also proud- ly claims Huntington High School as one ot her alma maters. SAMUEL A. HOFFMAN The new dean ot boys this year, is Samuel Hottman who replaced Mr. Withers, now principal at Hinton High School. ln addition' to his duties in this capacity, he instructs classes in economics. As treasurer ot the Huntington High School Athletic Association, he attends to all the tinancial matters ot the teams and has proved him- self very competent in this posi- tion. A Huntington High School graduate himselt, Mr. Hottman later attended Marshal College and the University ot Virginia where he received his B.S. degree. While at the University ot Virgin- ia, Mr. Hottman became a mem- ber ot Phi Beta Kappa. Page I I
