The Fighting 69th, under the guidance of Fr. James Conroy, began its activities at an assembly held in SSPP church. Captain was Patrick Mettler and Lieutenants were William Millner, Lynn Stoffel, Louis Machall and Thomas PeGan. The C.S.M.C., Catholic Students Mission Crusade, provided to the students again in 1957- 58, as in past years, the opportunity to bring aid to children in Mission lands. The activities were under the direction of Sr. M. Igna. Projects conducted to raise funds were the sale of Christmas cards, and Lenten collection for the Bishop's Relief Fund. Officers were: Rita Rowe, President, Dave Guthier, Vice-Presidentg Karen Bir, Secretaryg and Steve Zahn, Treasurer. The officers this year of the Sodality are: Patricia Ufheil, Prefectg Skip Kroeger, Vice- Prefectg and Mary Kindler, Secretary. Sodalists attended Mass and Holy Commun- ion in a body every third Sunday at the eight o'clock Mass. Sister Frances Louise, Sodality moderator, produced many informative meetings during the school year. The Sodality had activities such as the Living Rosary, May Crowning, and New Year's Eve Watch. .-24.-

The Seniors of 1957-58 were the first class to use St. Mary's cafeteria. 'D tags .8 .KX in This year the Parent Teach- ers Organization sponsors the after home game parties throughout the basketball sea- son. The PTA also sponsored a Christmas Dance held in St. Mary's Gym in Dec. and ac-ted as chaperones for the Jr. Sr. Prom. Officers for the school year 1957-58 were President, Mr. William Zahn: Secretary, Lu- cille Ufheilg Treasurer, Mrs. Dorothy Kennedy and Vice- President, Mrs. Charles Mill- ner. Huntington Catholic's honor society, the Beta Club, had as officers Peg Scheiber, Presi- dent: Pat Mettler, Vice-Presi- dentg Ann Fink, Secretaryg Martha Settlemyre, Treasurer. A banquet was held for the incoming members at the first of the year. A bake sale was sponsored by the club during the year. During the Honor Day exercises a gift of S50 was presented to the school.

A division of the Journalism Club, the Hilltop Staff was re- sponsible for putting out the school paper. Members of the staff include: Joyce Raney, Peg Scheiber, Ann Fink, Marie Miller, Bon- nie Beekman, Sharon Shape, Ann Johnson, Paula Scher, Janet Bowman, Carol Coughlin. D I- 1 I tg 'J The S. M. Y., St. Mary's Youth, was founded during the school year of 1956-57. During this the second year, 2 couples from each class were chosen to represent their class at all SMY meetings. During the year the SMY sponsored such activities as Friday nite parties, an Easter Dance, May Dance, and a spe- cial dance to raise funds for Jim Keefer. Officers were: Louis Machall, Ann Fink, Carol Seifert and Kathy Rauktis. I -Za The Rambler staff, a division of the Journalism Club, was in charge of this year's yearbook publication. Staff members include: front row: Alyce Kastner, Sharon Shape, Rita Rowe, Carol Ryd- berg, Bonnie Beekman, back row: Susan PeGan, Carol Sei- fert, Kathy Rauktis, Sharon Bauer, Janet Bowman.
