1 The year 1969-1970 saw Huntington Beach in motion. Many of our friends left for the new Edison High School, and our student body dwindled. Our numbers swelled with the addition of many new Oilers transferring from Marina High School to create a new student body. We struggled to find unity and we succeeded. Together we saw a year of success and advancement as our football team posted a sec- in Sunset League. As juniors, we produced a .lunior-Senior Prom that will never be forgotten. The theme Once Upon a Time enchanted all and was a dream come true. As one, we progressed and drew ourselves closer to the ultimate goal-the great- ,lest ambition-and we realized all our hopes as we became seniors- members ofthe illustrious Class ofI97I. We began the year recognizing AFS Student Geraldo Souza and Song Leader Debi Fong as the Friendliest Senior Boy and Girl. The end iapproachedlbsfwiftly as the days c tmegand fled.
