Government Ana' Ecanomics Ns These Seniors are shown walking back to their bus after a tour of the International Harvester Plant here in Fort Wayne on an Economics trip. f-F' ' ..-.- ,1 4 1 23 Under the direction of Mr. Mc- Kinney the seniors studied gov- ernment, and economics. In their economics class they studied the Affluent Society, The Status Seekers, and the stock market. They found out they didn't know as much as they thought they did about the economic conditions of the United States.

Business Skills HeQb Us Aclwmce In The World Under the direction of Mrs. Bauserman the typing classes had lots to do during their year of study. She thought up exercises for them to do, and all the lessons in the book besides. Sometimes some of the students would say, Mrs. Bausernian, do WE have to do this ? She would always answer, Yes. Mrs. Bauserrnan also taught Shorthand I and II. In Shorthand I she taught the girls the basic fundamentals they had to know and gave them dictation. In Shorthand II she had the girls take dictation at speeds faster than they could take and have them transcribe them. This would build up their speeds. Under the direction of Mr. Fox the Bookkeeping class learned the basic fundamentals of bookkeeping plus trying to keep their records correct and bal- anced. Everyone received a lot of knowledge to help him prosper in today's world. 22

,Ti , ' NS X. Each year a freshman or sophomore receives the Junior Crisco award for the most interest shown in home ec from their class. Mrs. Gailender is shown giving the award to Sharon Zehr. Home Economics Under the direction of Mrs. I-Iostetler and Mrs. Gallender, the students taking Horne Economics learn about cooking and sewing. Students taking homie econoniics pre- sent a style show each year to show the student body and their rriothers what they have done in horne ec. Teachers and girls, a job Well done. 1 Each dyear the Home Ec department presents the Crisco awar to a Junior or Senior who shows the most interest in home ec. This year the recipient was Debby Helmick.
